About me
I’m Aleksandra Stawinska, an occupational psychologist, breathwork facilitator and coach, and TRE™ provider. I’m currently completing a PhD in Psychology at University College London.
What I do
Through The Somatic Practice, I support busy professionals navigating stress and burnout, as well as the wider impact these can have on both body and mind. Alongside this work, I’ve spent several years in HR within the financial services sector, supporting individuals in high-pressure environments through many of these same challenges. I’ve also worked across a range of mental health and wellbeing settings and have facilitated workshops internationally.
Why this work matters to me
My connection to this work is shaped not only by research and professional experience, but also by my own experiences of stress, trauma, loss and grief. These experiences have shaped my understanding that stress is not only experienced in the mind, but also held in the body - often showing up as tension, fatigue, disrupted sleep, pain or a nervous system that remains on high alert.
How I work
This led me to train in TRE™ and breathwork, and to integrate these approaches into my work. I believe body-based practices offer something different - a way to release tension and support the nervous system. My approach is science-informed and shaped by both research and lived experience. I aim to create a space where you can move at your own pace, with care and respect for your nervous system and individual experience.
